Living In Your Truth Ain't Always Pretty
How are you today? I pray all is going well. And to be very honest I hope you're feeling a lot better than I am right now. Not that I'm feeling terrible, depressed, or anything, but I'm just in a really weird space right now.
I almost didn't write a blog for this week, I'm actually a day behind. It's 1:47a and I'm laying in bed with all these thoughts, and I'm like "BOOM, blog time" Lol. So hey hey.
Today's topic? Yes you guessed it,
IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY
As women (and men but I can only speak from a woman's perspective), a lot of the times we are raised to believe that we have to be strong at all times. Especially in today's society where we fight so hard just to be equal and to be heard throughout all the noise.
It's like, we somehow have adopted the roles of both mother and father, male and female in all relationships.
And don't get it twisted, I'm all for GIRL POWER. We woman are some very strong, intellectual, multi-dimensional beings however, sometimes...we gotta brush all that to the side.
It's okay to not be okay. It is okay to cry. It is okay to not know. It's okay to be scared. It is okay to be confused. All of these emotions are very normal and having these feelings doesn't make you less of a woman, less of a mother, less of a wife, or whatever your title may be. Heck, it doesn't make you less of a person, period. If anything it makes you the closest thing to pure because when you are living in your truth, it isn't gonna always be pretty, but at least it's real.
However, it is very important that we do not dwell in not feeling well. You must acknowledge how you feel, accept how you feel, then let it go. It’s when we continue to allow low vibrations consume us that we walk deeper into darkness. But remember there is light within you. Build the courage to grab hold of that light, and pull yourself out of the darkness.
Ways To Pull Yourself Out of Feeling Down
This is a very important part of having an emotional healthy life. With prayer comes understanding. It allows us the opportunity to step outside of ourselves and gain insights spiritually on what is happening around us. Remember, you are bigger than what you see. Tap into your higher self through prayer, which can also be referred to as meditation.
2. Physical Activity
Hate it or love it, exercising, or any physical activity for that matter, is a great way to lift your spirits. I find myself liking to go on walks. It gets your blood flowing and relaxing your mind, and a major plus, you don’t have to break too much of a sweat! So if you’re feeling low, take some time to yourself and go on a walk, jog, dance, or do yoga. Something to get you moving, and I promise you will feel better.
3. Write About It
I’m literally exercising this one right now. I was feeling weird and before I allowed myself to get down, I started to write about it. And I honestly feel 10x better already. Writing about it allows you to release everything that’s within you. There’s no “right” way to do it either, whatever comes to mind just write it down. I do this very often and it seems to work every time. If your feelings are towards a certain individual, write a letter to that person. You don’t send the letter, but you take that time to tell them whatever it is you want to. Write it and release it.
In the world of today, we need more real. We need more women who aren't afraid to be true to themselves regardless of the media's agenda.
If you're reading this, you are strong, you are powerful, you don't have to take anything from anybody... but at the end of it all, you are a loving, caring, vulnerable, emotional being, and that... is beautiful.
